Samsung S8000: The Android Phone To Watch In 2009?

The S8000 is just one of a bevy of touchscreen phones to be released by Korean manufacturer Samsung, but a leaked spec sheet from Russian seller Euroset.ru has made it infinitely more interesting, revealing it is as their first Android-powered device!
The Samsung S8000 has a 3.1″ AMOLED touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera with flash, 2GB of expandable internal memory (via microSD slot) and a 3.5mm audio jack. Connectivity is covered with 3G support, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, USB and Wi-Fi, all housed in a body a scant 12mm thin.
With regards to user inteface, GSMArena speculates that the cube-button on the front of the handset could mean a new 3D layout, and our quick snapping at the Samsung booth showed that such a thing is certainly on their roadmap!
To bring such a strong handset to market with Android is a real statement of commitment to the platform, and hopefully signifies the first of many Google-powered handsets from the big phone makers.
