UK mobile phone networks Orange and T-Mobile have opened up the pre-ordering of the more budget friendly Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, which is a cut down version of the company’s flagship Samsung Galaxy S4.
This comes with unlimited minutes and unlimited text messaging, along with 250MB of data.
Ordering between now and Thursday the 4th of July saves the upfront cost of £49.99 being added, which will be put back in play after that date – which coincides with its shipping day, of the 5th of July.
T-Mobile matches the contract price, arrival date and fee waiving of Orange.
Samsung’s Galaxy S4 mini will ship with a 4.3-inch 960 x 540 Super AMOLED display, which is powered by a dual-core 1.7GHz processor, with 1.5GB RAM; 8GB (5GB accessible) of internal storage and support for 64GB microSD cards.
There is also an 8-megapixel camera, front-facing 1.9MP snapper, and it runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with the familiar Nature UX overlay.
The original, top-tier, Samsung Galaxy S4, has a 5-inch full HD 1,920 x 1,080 screen; quad-core 1.9GHz CPU; 2GB of RAM; 16GB storage capacity; 64GB microSD card support; a 13MP and 2MP camera – as a comparison, and on much more costly tariffs.
Orange’s cheapest deal for the S4 is £36 a month, with a cost of £99.99 for the phone; T-Mobile’s equivalent is priced at £1 more a month and has the same upfront price.
Orange and T-Mobile have been in touch, to inform us that the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini is now available – and is no longer in the pre-ordering phase.
