Samsung B3410 Deals Now Available: Bargain QWERTY Slider Exclusive To Carphone Warehouse

By Ernest Doku

Samsung B3410

Not content with undercutting pricey touch screen phones with the Genio Touch and bringing a bargain BlackBerry clone in the form of the Genio QWERTY, the Samsung B3410 offers an affordable slider handset, aping the form factor of smart phone successes like the HTC Touch Pro 2 and Motorola’s DEXT.

With a full four row keyboard hidden behind a 2.6″ TFT touchscreen, the B3410 has a gorgeous – if familiar – design that is only hamstung by entry-level specs.

The Carphone Warehouse-exclusive handset runs on Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz user interface, and is perfect to get the socially-savvy teen sending mail and messages at a great pace, until you realise where the B3410 comes up short…

The Samsung B3410 is a 2G device sporting EDGE connectivity rather than whizzy 3G or Wi-Fi support, making browsing and receiving e-mails with attachments a tough proposition. Bluetooth 2.1 is included however, which enables files and pictures to be transferred between phones far more quickly.

It gains some bonus points when it comes to multimedia, as it supports both MP3 and MP4 formats, a 2 megapixel camera as well as an FM radio.

Having said this, the bargain pricepoint (Samsung B3410 deals start at £14.67 per month with a free phone and half price line rental), appealing looks and compact form should make it a hit with textaholics, and is bound to do even better when it arrives on prepay.
