Orange To Offer £5 Pay Monthly Contracts
Orange seems to be offering the deal of the century today, undercutting all of their competitors and offering a £5 mobile phone contract.
For the £5 pay monthly deal you get a Nokia 2630, 50 free minutes and 50 free texts. Not too shabby…except they are requesting that you fly with them for the long haul on a 36 month contract. That’s 3 years!
Fear not, they will apparently keep your phone future-proof by chucking in a new handset at the 18 month point. All in all not too bad, but is Orange offering pay-as-you-go service with the added shackles of a pay monthly deal? Neil MacGeorge, Director of Pay Monthly begs to differ:
“In the current economic climate, the demand for both low-cost monthly plans which include a phone and SIM only deals has materially increased. These new 36 month phone plans starting at £5 will provide light users with more choice since currently their only option is a pay as you go package. They are ideal for people who don’t want to go through a top up process, are happy to commit to a contract, want the security of knowing that they won’t run out of credit and who want a phone included in the package.”
True, it can equally be seen as the best of both worlds for light users looking for a bit of value.
Their are also two higher tier tariffs offering equally competitive yet equally long contracts…
- £10 offers 100 minutes and 300 texts with a Nokia 3600
- £15 offers 200 minutes and unlimited texts with a Nokia 6500 Slide
These offers, as well as a range of new cheap SIM only deals from Orange, are launching online from today.
