CoPilot Sat Nav Software Comes To iPhone, Android And Windows Mobile

Good news for the directionally challenged, as turn-by-turn navigation software CoPilot makes its way to the major smartphone formats, with the iPhone leading the charge.
Unveiled on the shelves of the App Store late last week, the robust satellite navigation app was being sold complete with swanky 3D interface, spoken instructions and address search for the bargain price of £25.99.
With the promise of further updates to provide more to those on legs as opposed to wheels, as well as improved performance, it seems that CoPilot is eager to both steal a march on the impending GPS champ TomTom, as well as undercut a pricey alternative in the form of Navigon’s Mobile Navigator, currently selling for £52.99.
The improved GPS and new internal compass of the iPhone 3GS has seen a profusion of these apps pop up, but we are glad to say that CoPilot has not neglected the other smartphone formats, revealing versions both for Android and Windows Phones.
With the expanse of a touchscreen display, the GPS software can finally offer an experience comparable to dedicated devices, with fast refresh rates, lane indicator displays and speeding alerts, as well as full, detailed street maps.
Promising to be their most advanced software yet, CoPilot Live v8 enables you to make the most of the ‘Live’ functionality, including weather reports, traffic updates to dodge the queues and a cool/creepy LiveLink to share your location, Google Latitude style.
The Android version of CoPilot is available from the Market, whilst the Windows Mobile version is available from their site. Both are available for £25.99, with UK and Ireland maps.
