Apple Locks The Door On 3GS Jailbreak With New Patch

By Ernest Doku

No-Apple-Iphone

Apple are reported to be shipping a new batch of the iPhone 3GS pre-loaded with software that is no longer susceptible to unofficial unlocking, known as ‘jailbreaking’.

Good people tend to jailbreak their iPhone for use on networks other than O2 (which is soon to become a lot easier, thanks to an impending release on Orange and Vodafone), whilst naughty folk jailbreak primarily to download applications and games for free.

The new version has rocked the modding community, with the patch preventing all normal methods of jailbreaking as the changes have occurred deep down at the ‘boot’ level.

The cat and mouse game begins again…but with jailbreaking now so mainstream that professional tweeter Stephen Fry gave praise to iPhoneDevTeam hackers for recent efforts, the world waits with baited breath for a solution.
