Samsung Blade, Vodafone Handset Carving Up The Touchscreen Market In Two Weeks?

samsungblade1

We’ve just got a heads-up on big handsets from Vodafone in June, and in addition to the Android powered HTC Magic and the forthcoming flagship Nokia N97, (due 26th June with free speakers!) we also found an exclusive new touchscreen device on their books called the Samsung Blade.

This slender device has little in the way of details aside from the diddy photo above, with Vodafone logo emblazoned above the TFT touchscreen display confirming its loyalty to the the network.

We also know that the Blade’s will be chock full of bright AMOLED goodness on the display, be packing a 3.15 megapixel camera and will have ‘speedy and powerful multimedia’ capabilities. With a 18th June release date, we don’t have long to wait to find out what this secretive handset has in store for us!

Any details as to which of the new range of Samsung devices this might be, also what is going on with that funky D-pad? Answers on a postcard, please!

UPDATE: It looks like the Blade has been held up in customs, along with all of the other sharp objects! It has seen a release in Spain, but is delayed in the UK. Hopefully some time in July…

UPDATE 2: It has finally been officially released by Vodafone, with a selection of Samsung Blade deals to suit all pockets.

Starting at £15 per month on a 24 month contract, the Blade is a nice combination of affordability and cutting edge features! See what I did there? Samsung Blade, ‘cutting’?
