LG’s latest handset, the GD510 ‘POP’ as it’s being called, has just landed on our desk…

The ‘Pop‘ boasts a large 3.0″ screen in an ultra-compact brushed aluminium body – certainly a talking point on any handset that retails for less than £100.

LG are also keen to add that the GD510 has been built with the environment firmly in mind – it’s constructed largely from hazard-free materials, the battery can be upgraded to a solar panel and the unit comes in eco-friendly packaging.

A decent option, then, for anyone wanting to pocket a touchscreen without harming the bank balance or the planet?

First impressions certainly are good, but hold tight for the full verdict, which we will deliver early next week.
