iPhone Soon On Orange And T-Mobile, End Of O2 Exclusivity In September

Yes! Omio’s ‘iPhone on Orange‘ story was right! We were a mere year early, but news has broken from numerous sources that the iPhone 3G exclusivity on O2 is due to end, with Apple said to be in negotiations with both Orange and T-Mobile to stock the coveted smart phone.
The agreement does not cover the newer, faster iPhone 3GS, which continues to be an exclusive with O2, but Orange and T-Mobile have gone as far as mentioning to customers that they will soon stock the iPhone 3G.
The most interesting aspect of the move is the prospective pricing of the handset, with prices of the 3G model sure to fall in the face of increased competition between the networks. O2 is said to be ‘furious’, with concerns about being undercut on the cost.
With Apple’s 2 year agreement set to expire in September 2009, we could see iPhone 3Gs on other networks as soon as this winter.
