BlackBerry Niagara Could Cause Smartphone Meltdown

According to the latest scoop from Boy Genius reports, the latest addition to the BlackBerry 9000 range, the 3G Blackberry Niagara will be a similar (but slightly better) version of the Blackberry Curve.
The latest Blackberry smartphone will hit the shops in May this year and will build on the success of Research In Motion’s popular Blackberry Curve handsets. The Niagara will be bigger than the Curve but smaller than the Blackberry Bold.
The new handset is expected to run on BlackBerry OS 4.6 software, will still have the full QWERTY keyboard, and if preliminary reports are anything to go by it’ll have the best BlackBerry keyboard ever, GPs, a 3.2-megapixel camera and the best screen size/feel of any of the previous BlackBerry phones.
The latest addition to the BlackBerry lineup will be slotted into the market sometime in May this year and, coincidentally, it’ll be happening at the same time as the Palm Pre launch and the iPhone software upgrade.
It’ll be worth paying attention to see whether the Niagara only manages to breathe new life into theĀ BlackBerry lineup or goes all out and causes a total smartphone meltdown.
